Bump-in schedule — 4-day matrix templateEasyStagecraft Module 2 · Day × Crew × Tasks · pre-filled worked example for a 5-show Year-12 musical · 70% rule applied

How to use. The blank template is at the end. The worked example above shows what good looks like for a typical Year-12 musical: Les Misérables at St Joseph's Senior College, 4 evening + 1 matinee in a 380-seat venue. The schedule applies the 70% rule (every block budgeted at 70% of "fast-track" estimate so that contingency lives inside the plan, not outside it). Meals are scheduled, not improvised. Every crew-call has a confirmation requirement.

Tech-week pattern: cast at 16:30 (after school), tech from 17:00, dinner break 18:30, run through 21:00 (Yr 12 finish), 21:30 SM-only debrief, 22:00 absolute end. Same pattern Tue + Wed. Dress Wed evening — full run + photo call. (Detailed grid omitted for brevity — full template below covers all 4 bump-in days + tech week + dress.)

The 70% rule applied

Every block above is budgeted at 70% of a fast-track estimate. Worked example: the deck build above is allocated 4 hours (09:00–12:30 with break) for what an experienced 2-person team could do in ~2.8 hours. The buffer is invisible to the team but absorbs the "we ran 30 min behind on the EWP move" without forcing a stay-late call. If you finish ahead, the SM brings forward the next block — but never publishes the fast-track time, because the moment you do, the buffer is consumed by ambition.
